The Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) is facing demands to change the venue for its elections, scheduled for February 15th. The Royal Satyamev Jayate Group contends that the current polling location at Ram Baug is controlled by Tejal Amin, a candidate from the rival Revival Group led by Pranav Amin.
This alleged control raises concerns about undue advantage and voter influence, prompting the Royal Satyamev Jayate Group to object. The group, represented by Jatin Vakil, also highlighted apprehension regarding the involvement of staff from Alembic Industries Ltd., a company owned by the Amin family, in the election process. They advocate for an independent election team.
Further objections were lodged with BCA chief election officer Varesh Sinha concerning the voters' list, which allegedly includes names of deceased individuals, posing a risk of bogus voting. The group insists on verification through government-issued identity cards to ensure election integrity. Additionally, the group proposed rescheduling the election date, noting it falls on Maha Shivratri.
