Mainz is preparing to face Bayern Munich in a Bundesliga fixture, with the hosts encountering substantial defensive reshuffling. Key players are suspended or injured, impacting their backline significantly. Additionally, forward Silas remains sidelined with an ankle injury.
Bayern Munich, managed by assistant coach Aaron Danks due to manager Vincent Kompany's illness, is navigating an injury crisis, particularly in attack. Several key forwards are out, and while Jamal Musiala has returned to training, this match comes too soon for him. Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is fit, and Alphonso Davies' minutes may be managed.
Mainz has struggled recently, losing four of their last five matches and remaining winless at home this season. Bayern Munich, however, is unbeaten across all competitions and leads the Bundesliga. Despite a recent draw, they secured a notable Champions League victory.
