Bayern Munich Eyes Barcelona Star Kounde

Bayern Munich has identified Barcelona defender Jules Kounde as a player of interest, having monitored him for several years. Despite this long-standing admiration, a transfer to the Allianz Arena is not anticipated during the current transfer window.

Christian Falk reports that Bayern remains convinced of Kounde's quality. However, the German champions' squad is currently oversupplied with defenders. This defensive surplus is the primary obstacle, preventing concrete negotiations for the French international.

Before pursuing Kounde, Bayern Munich must first streamline their squad by reducing the number of players competing for defensive roles. Any potential pursuit of the Barcelona defender is therefore on hold, with the club focusing on departures rather than arrivals in that area.

From Barcelona's perspective, there is no immediate pressure regarding Kounde's future. He is under contract until 2030 and reportedly content in Catalonia. While Barcelona would listen to offers around €65 million due to financial realities, they are not actively seeking to sell.
