Pakistan's Twenty20 squad sees the return of former captains Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi for an upcoming three-match home series against Australia. This series, commencing on Thursday, represents Pakistan's final bilateral engagement before the T20 World Cup next month.
Babar Azam, who had been playing in Australia's domestic Big Bash League (BBL), cut his campaign short to rejoin the national squad. Shaheen Shah Afridi has also recovered from a knee injury sustained during his BBL participation last month.
The series against Australia will take place in Lahore and conclude on February 1. Following this, the 2009 champions will commence their T20 World Cup journey in Group A. Their first match is scheduled for February 7 in Colombo against the Netherlands.
