Pakistan's Test captain, Babar Azam, has indicated his openness to receiving batting advice from former teammate Mohammad Yousuf. This comes after Yousuf publicly suggested that Azam undergo specialized coaching abroad to overcome technical challenges.
Yousuf had previously urged the Pakistan Cricket Board to consider sending Azam to academies in England or Australia, believing specialist coaches could help him regain peak form. He also advised Azam to temporarily step away from first-class cricket to focus on fixing his batting flaws.
During a press conference before Pakistan's Test series against Sri Lanka, Azam addressed Yousuf's comments. He stated that while he respects Yousuf immensely and believes the learning process is ongoing, he had not yet been directly contacted by the former great. If contact is made, Azam welcomes the opportunity to learn from the legend.
Azam also commented on his recent dismissals, explaining that players can get out in various ways and that patterns are not always consistent. He affirmed that he takes responsibility for his shortcomings and views each dismissal as a chance for self-improvement.
