Auburn lands 4-star defensive gem for 2027

Auburn's football program is set to receive a boost with the commitment of four-star edge rusher James Pace for the 2027 recruiting class. Under new head coach Alex Golesh, the Tigers are looking to reshape the team, and Pace's commitment marks a key early success.

Pace, a six-foot-two, 225-pound prospect from DeMatha Catholic, demonstrated his potential with a strong junior season, tallying 14 sacks and 81 total tackles. His commitment follows closely on the heels of his high school teammate, safety Knyair Crumb, who also committed to Auburn's 2027 class.

This influx of defensive talent could address recent performance metrics, as the Tigers finished in the middle of the pack in the SEC for total sacks last season. Coach Golesh will aim to see these improvements in the coming seasons with recruits like Pace.
