Arena Overload: Dream, Hawks, & United Clash on One Day!
24 Oct
Summary
- State Farm Arena hosts WNBA Finals and Hawks home opener simultaneously.
- Hundreds of staff will convert the arena floor between events.
- Fans urged to use public transport due to downtown congestion.
State Farm Arena is set for an extraordinary day on Saturday, October 25th, 2025, as it simultaneously accommodates two major sporting events. The Atlanta Dream will face the Golden State Valkyries in Game 4 of the WNBA Finals at 1 p.m., followed by the Atlanta Hawks' home opener against the Houston Rockets at 8:30 p.m.
This demanding schedule requires hundreds of staff members to execute a complex arena conversion. Crews must completely remove and replace the basketball floor between games to prepare for the Hawks' fans, who will begin entering at 7:30 p.m. The Dream's game was relocated to the larger State Farm Arena from its usual venue. Adding to the potential congestion, Atlanta United will also play a home match at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
