Astros Pitchers Silence Rangers in Historic No-Hitter

Houston Astros pitchers achieved a historic milestone by throwing a combined no-hitter against the Texas Rangers, clinching a decisive 9-0 victory on May 26, 2026. Tatsuya Imai, Steven Okert, and Alimber Santa combined for the remarkable feat, which marked the 18th no-hitter in franchise history. This was the fifth combined no-hitter and the first since the 2022 World Series. Alimber Santa made history as the first pitcher since 1892 to pitch in a no-hitter in his MLB debut.

Offensively, Christian Walker led the charge with a 3-run home run, and Yordan Alvarez added a solo shot. Walker is currently in stellar form, boasting three home runs and nine RBIs in his last three games. He also ranks among the AL leaders in several offensive categories, including RBIs and home runs, while maintaining a perfect fielding record.

The Astros' recent performance has been exceptional, with the team winning four straight games and seven of their last ten. Their pitching has been a significant factor, with starters achieving a 2.14 ERA over their last ten outings. The bullpen has also been reliable, posting a 3.25 ERA since May 8. This strong play has extended their success in the Silver Boot series, as they have now won six of their last seven games against the Rangers.

Manager Joe Espada is on the verge of his 200th career win, a milestone that would further solidify his tenure. The Astros' next victory will achieve this historic number. In a roster move, outfielder Taylor Trammell was reinstated from the injured list and is in the lineup batting fifth.
