Summary
- Ashwin supports spinner Kuldeep Yadav after poor Test performance.
- He criticizes captain Shubman Gill for Kuldeep's lack of involvement.
- Ashwin questions the team management's trust in Kuldeep.

Ravichandran Ashwin has voiced his support for spinner Kuldeep Yadav following the latter's underwhelming performance in the recent first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle. Ashwin believes the team management, and specifically captain Shubman Gill, misused Kuldeep during the match.
Ashwin explained on his YouTube channel that Kuldeep remains the third-choice spinner and that it's challenging to find rhythm in short, late spells, especially with the Kookaburra ball after 30 overs. He noted that spinners like Ravindra Jadeja and Manav Suthar are different, with Jadeja's faster hand speed and Suthar's effectiveness with the new ball.
The former all-rounder suggested that Kuldeep is not Shubman Gill's preferred choice as captain, leading to a difficult situation for the player. Ashwin asserted that Kuldeep's skills are not diminished and criticized the lack of proper utilization and support from the management.
According to Ashwin, the situation indicates a lack of trust from the team management towards Kuldeep Yadav. He argued that if a third spinner is to be included, it should be Kuldeep, who deserves consistent backing to regain confidence and perform effectively.
