Chaliha's Smash: French Open Test Awaits

Ashmita Chaliha is preparing to face Nozomi Okuhara in the upcoming French Open badminton tournament. Chaliha's impressive attacking game, which led to her victory over World No. 2 Akane Yamaguchi, will be challenged by Okuhara's formidable defense.

Having recently learned from a match against Okuhara in Denmark, Chaliha is focusing on patience and composure to secure a potential spot in her first Super 750 semifinal. She acknowledges the mental shift required after a significant win.

The French Open adds another layer of difficulty as players must compete independently, without their usual coaches. This environment tests their ability to think critically and solve problems on their own.

Chaliha expressed that her recent victory over Akane Yamaguchi felt surreal and signified the payoff of her hard work. She emphasized the importance of sustained focus and trusting her game, strategies she will need to employ again.
