Arsenal Loanee Shines in Stevenage's League Rise

Arsenal loanee Tommy Setford recorded his first clean sheet for Stevenage this past weekend. The goalkeeper was instrumental in the team's 1-0 victory over Wigan Athletic, marking his fourth appearance for the League One club. Setford had briefly been away with the England U21 squad, missing one EFL Trophy game, but returned to the starting lineup.

His arrival has coincided with a dramatic improvement in Stevenage's league standing. The team was in 20th place with just three points upon Setford joining; they now sit in ninth place. While most of their recent matches have been close contests, the team appears to have moved clear of relegation battles.

Setford's individual performance has been commendable, having conceded only three goals across his first four games and playing every available league minute. This loan spell seems to be proving successful for both the player and the club.
