Arne Slot has vowed to avoid the selection mistakes made in last season's FA Cup, particularly the surprise fourth-round exit against Plymouth. This time, for the upcoming third-round match against Barnsley, Liverpool's manager plans to field a significantly stronger team.
Slot reflected on his previous decision to rest numerous players when Liverpool were competing for multiple trophies. He stated that the current season's circumstances, with the team out of the Carabao Cup and trailing in the Premier League, necessitate a more serious approach to the FA Cup.
He assured fans that players who featured in recent league games will be available for the Barnsley match, acknowledging the home advantage against a League One opponent. However, he noted that Conor Bradley's fitness remains uncertain, potentially impacting squad depth.
