The Lucknow Race Course and Turf Club buzzed with excitement on Sunday for the 'Arjun Cup: The Majestic Horse Race'. Spectators, dressed in elegant attire, gathered to witness thrilling races featuring Indianbred and Thoroughbred horses, enhanced by live music. Golden Boy, ridden by Mohammad Islam and owned by Shabab Abbas Naqvi, galloped to first place in the Indianbred category, winning Rs 5,000.
In the highly competitive Thoroughbred category, the mare Angel In My Heart, owned by J N Mathur, took home the top prize of Rs 10,000. Veteran jockey Mohammad Islam, aged 60, showcased his enduring skill by riding Chopin to a second-place finish, earning Rs 7,000. Mariella secured third place in this division.
Beyond the races, the event celebrated style with prizes for the best hat, best dressed individuals, and best couple. Attendees like equestrian Neha Mehra and long-time race enthusiast Riddhima Saha shared their passion for the sport, highlighting the event's enduring appeal.
