Area athletes and relay teams captured multiple all-state distinctions at the Class A state swimming and diving championships. Five individual swimmers and three relay teams earned this prestigious recognition.
Willmar's Sam Sheets was a standout, securing podium finishes in three separate events. He placed fifth in the 50-yard freestyle and eighth in the 100 breaststroke. Sheets also anchored a relay team that achieved sixth place.
Dominic Borg of Dassel-Cokato/Litchfield also demonstrated impressive versatility, earning podium spots in all four of his events. He secured sixth place in both the 50 and 100 freestyles and was part of two relay teams that finished third and sixth.
Additional all-state honors went to Montevideo swimmers Nolan Christopher and Hayden Blom, who placed fifth and eighth in their respective freestyle events. The Dassel-Cokato/Litchfield team finished as the top area team, ranking seventh overall in the competition.
