Archers Aim for LA: 24-Hour Marathon Challenge

A 24-hour archery marathon will feature British Olympic and Paralympic archers beginning Thursday at noon GMT. The event, held at Shropshire's Lilleshall National Sports Centre, is dedicated to raising funds for the Access Archery Fund. This initiative seeks to significantly increase opportunities for disabled individuals to engage in archery.

The public is invited to participate alongside elite athletes like Tokyo Paralympic champion Phoebe Paterson Pine and Paris gold medallist Nathan Macqueen. Attendees have the option to use their own bow or borrow equipment, receiving basic instruction. A suggested donation of £5 for shooting at least six arrows will be collected on-site, with online booking available.

The ambitious goal is to collectively shoot arrows covering the distance to Los Angeles, the host city for the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games. Archery GB established the fund this year with the Fletchers' Trust to ensure clubs and providers can become more inclusive, offering everyone a pathway into the sport.
