Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jacob Fowler experienced a peculiar moment during a recent game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. A green apple was thrown onto the ice during the second period, prompting referee T.J. Luxmore to pick it up and briefly show it to the rookie netminder. Fowler joked that he was more accustomed to tracking a puck than an apple and had never witnessed such an event.
The unexpected object landed on the ice with approximately 8:30 remaining in the second period. While initially questioning its identity, Fowler remained focused and did not let the distraction affect his play. He ultimately made 26 saves, helping the Canadiens maintain their lead and secure a 4-2 victory over the Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena.
