Edwards' Fan Toss Nets $25K Fine
27 Feb
Summary
- Anthony Edwards fined $25,000 by NBA for ball throw.
- The incident occurred during halftime of a game.
- Another player, Desmond Bane, received a similar fine.

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards has been fined $25,000 by the National Basketball Association. The penalty stems from forcefully throwing the game ball into the stands during halftime of the Timberwolves' recent 124-121 road victory against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The incident happened at the conclusion of the second quarter. After a missed shot by the Trail Blazers, Edwards secured the rebound and then simulated a long throw. Following the buzzer, he launched the ball, which struck an individual in the vicinity. Although Edwards did not act out of anger, the ball's trajectory unfortunately caused harm to the bystander.
This is not the first time Edwards has faced NBA fines. In the previous year, he accumulated $420,000 in fines across eight separate instances, primarily for using foul language in post-game interviews.
Interestingly, Orlando Magic guard Desmond Bane was also penalized $25,000 for throwing a ball into the stands with force during his team's win over the Los Angeles Lakers on the same Tuesday night. Bane's ball toss occurred as the game concluded.
