The Los Angeles Angels announced on Tuesday they have acquired infielder Vaughn Grissom from the Boston Red Sox. This move comes after Grissom's brief tenure with the Red Sox, having arrived in a trade from Atlanta on December 30, 2023, as part of the deal that sent Chris Sale to the Braves.
Grissom appeared in only 31 games for Boston during his time with the team. He posted a .190 batting average with six RBIs in 105 at-bats in 2024. Prior to his major league debut with Atlanta in 2022, Grissom played for Triple-A Worcester, where he hit .270 with 13 homers and 48 RBIs in 96 games.
In return for Grissom, the Red Sox have acquired minor league outfielder Isaiah Jackson. The 21-year-old Jackson was an 18th-round pick in the current year's amateur draft. He played in 10 games for High-A Tri-City this season, batting .219 with one homer and four RBIs.
