Angels Prospect Nimmala Dominates Arizona Fall League
20 Oct
Summary
- Nimmala leads league in six hitting categories, including slugging.
- He recorded 11 hits and 7 RBIs in his first eight fall games.
- Nimmala could debut in Double-A this season and Triple-A next year.
Los Angeles Angels' top prospect Arjun Nimmala is currently dominating the Arizona Fall League, earning Hitter of the Week for the second week of the 2026 season. As of October 20, 2026, Nimmala leads the league in six offensive categories, including doubles, triples, extra-base hits, total bases, slugging percentage (1.091), and OPS (1.758).
In his initial eight games this fall, the 21-year-old infielder is batting .344 with one home run, seven RBIs, and seven runs scored. Nimmala, who was the Toronto Blue Jays' 2023 first-round pick before being traded to the Angels, made his Double-A debut in 2026. He finished the 2026 minor league season with a .263 average, 16 homers, and 51 RBIs across 89 games.
Nimmala is projected to start the 2027 season with the Rocket City Trash Pandas in Double-A. However, continued success could lead to an early Triple-A debut and potentially a late-season call-up to the Major League club, especially if current shortstop Zach Neto is traded.
