Summary
- Angelo State Rambelles soccer team holds a 1-2-1 record.
- Juliana Garcia leads the team with four goals this season.
- The team aims to improve defensive organization for conference play.
The Angelo State Rambelles soccer team is navigating a challenging start to head coach Mike Erwin's inaugural season, holding a 1-2-1 record. Most recently, the team suffered consecutive road defeats against Colorado School of Mines (5-0) and Western Colorado (5-4). Despite a strong offensive effort in the latter match, highlighted by freshman Juliana Garcia's hat trick, the Rambelles could not secure a win. Garcia's performance has placed her at the team's lead scorer with four goals this season.
Coach Erwin identified defensive organization as the primary area for improvement. He emphasized addressing structural issues in the back line to enhance team performance. The Rambelles are set to commence Lone Star Conference play on Wednesday, September 9th, with an away game against UT Dallas. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
