Andy Weaver Takes Reins at Zionsville Basketball

Andy Weaver, a highly respected Indiana high school basketball coach with 32 seasons of experience, has been named the new head boys' basketball coach at Zionsville High School. Weaver, 59, steps into the role after a successful 14-year stint with Plainfield, where he compiled a 196-137 record and achieved a winning season in each of his final ten years. His previous teams achieved significant success, including ending a 22-year sectional title drought in the 2020-21 season.

Weaver's career coaching record stands at an impressive 422-313 overall. He is recognized for building programs focused on player development, competitive excellence, and community engagement. His achievements include being named a three-time IBCA District 2 Coach of the Year and a five-time Mid-State Coach of the Year. Zionsville's athletic department noted Weaver's sustained excellence and the strong relationships he builds with athletes and the community.

Weaver's coaching journey also includes 15 seasons at Western High School. He replaces J.R. Howell, who departed Zionsville in early May to pursue a coaching and training position with Iowa United Prep. Zionsville expects Weaver to bring valuable leadership, experience, and a clear vision to their basketball program.
