Ancelotti Urges Endrick to Discuss Lack of Game Time at Real Madrid

As of November 12, 2025, Brazilian teenage prodigy Endrick has struggled to cement a regular place in Real Madrid's starting lineup since joining the club in 2024. The 17-year-old striker, who was touted as the "second coming of Pelé" when he burst onto the scene in Brazil, has started just three La Liga games and one Champions League match under manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti, who has since taken over as Brazil's national team manager, has now urged Endrick to have a conversation with Real Madrid about his lack of playing time. The Italian coach believes Endrick has the necessary quality to feature in Brazil's 2026 World Cup squad, but emphasized that the young striker needs to be playing regularly to demonstrate his abilities.

With the surprise emergence of Gonzalo García as Kylian Mbappé's backup at Real Madrid, Endrick has seen even fewer opportunities under new manager Xabi Alonso. As a result, the teenager is now expected to join French club Lyon on loan in the January transfer window, in a bid to secure more minutes and continue his development.

Despite the challenges Endrick has faced in his first year and a half at the Bernabéu, Ancelotti remains confident that the 17-year-old will have multiple chances to represent Brazil at the World Cup, with the 2026, 2030, and even 2034 editions all potential targets for the young striker.
