Hampshire Cricket Club has secured the services of Australian all-rounder Amanda-Jade Wellington for the complete 2026 season. The 28-year-old leg-spinner brings a wealth of experience to the Utilita Bowl venue, having previously played for Southern Brave in The Hundred.
Last season, Wellington played for Somerset, where she emerged as their leading wicket-taker in the One-Day Cup, claiming 19 wickets. She also contributed significantly with the bat, scoring 282 runs in the same competition. Wellington's prowess extends to international cricket, with 23 caps for Australia.
Hampshire's director of women's cricket, Adam Carty, expressed his delight, highlighting Wellington's "vastly experienced cricketer" status and her "fine record with bat and ball in England." Wellington herself conveyed her excitement about joining Hampshire and her aspirations to help the team win trophies.
