- Salkilld secured a swift submission win against Mateusz Gamrot.
- At 26, Salkilld has six consecutive wins with five stoppages.
Former UFC and Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez has identified emerging lightweight fighter Quillan Salkilld as a potential future champion. Alvarez expressed his admiration for Salkilld's skills, especially after witnessing his dominant first-round submission victory over perennial contender Mateusz Gamrot at UFC Fight Night 284 on August 10, 2024. Alvarez highlighted Salkilld's confidence, fighting prowess, and impressive presence in the octagon.
Since his debut in February 2025, the 26-year-old Salkilld has compiled an undefeated record of six wins within the UFC, with five of those victories coming by way of stoppage. His recent wins against seasoned veterans like Gamrot and Beneil Dariush have propelled him to the No. 9 ranking in the lightweight division. Alvarez is convinced that Salkilld has the complete package to succeed at the highest level of MMA, provided he avoids significant injuries.
