Philadelphia Phillies player Alec Bohm initiated legal action against his parents, Daniel and Lisa Bohm, on Wednesday in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. The lawsuit, filed this week, alleges that his parents mismanaged his finances and is seeking a judgment of at least $3 million.
Bohm claims that his parents established several limited liability companies (LLCs) starting in 2019, ostensibly to manage his assets earned from professional baseball. He asserts they told him they needed a 10% interest in these entities to act as his representatives. However, the suit alleges they subsequently gained access to his personal financial accounts and transferred significant funds into these controlled LLCs.
In 2024, the parents allegedly created additional LLCs when Bohm showed interest in real estate, overstating property-related costs. When Bohm requested financial information in January, his parents reportedly engaged legal counsel and proposed billing him $50 per hour for administering his affairs. The lawsuit seeks not only a financial settlement but also Bohm's control over the LLCs and an accounting of damages.
