The 2026 college football season kicks off with Alabama naming Keelon Russell as its starting quarterback. His ability to target all three levels of the defense is a key factor in coach Kalen DeBoer's strategy, especially with an evolving offensive line.
While Russell steps into the spotlight, the quarterback room also features Austin Mack, who did not secure the starting position. Mack is projected to be a highly desirable player in the transfer portal following this season, with many analysts believing he has a future in the NFL.
