Alabama defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. was dismissed from the team on Tuesday by Coach Kalen DeBoer following his second arrest in approximately a year. The dismissal came after Kirkpatrick Jr. was arrested on Friday for allegedly harassing and doxxing a University of Alabama police officer.
According to police documents, Kirkpatrick Jr. reportedly sent harassing messages and posted the officer's personal information, including his family, on social media. Coach DeBoer stated that the player failed to meet the established standards for the team.
This incident follows a previous arrest in Tuscaloosa for reckless endangerment and eluding police, which resulted in a suspension for the final seven games of the previous season. Kirkpatrick Jr. also faces a separate charge for leaving the scene of an accident from an incident in June. He had appeared in all seven games this season, recording five tackles.
