Al-Ahli's Title Quest: Pusic Era Begins!

Al-Ahli is aiming to secure a league title that has eluded them since their last victory in 2016, with the 2026-2027 season marking a new chapter. Dutchman Marino Pusic takes the helm as the new head coach, making his debut in the Saudi Roshn League. His first challenge comes today, Thursday, as Al-Ahli faces Al-Diriyah at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh.

Notable changes include goalkeeper Abdulrahman Al-Sanbi starting in place of the injured Edouard Mendy, who was sidelined during the 2026 World Cup held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. New signings Francisco Trincao and Eduard Spertsyan are set to make their debuts, with Trincao replacing Riyad Mahrez and Spertsyan stepping in for Franck Kessie, both of whom departed Al-Ahli during the summer transfer window. Enzo Millot is also being made available for transfer.
