Ajax Midfielder Regeer Eyes Loan Move to Werder Bremen
30 Aug
Summary
- Youri Regeer is close to joining Werder Bremen on loan.
- The loan deal includes an option to buy.
- Sofyan Amrabat's arrival opened the door for Regeer's departure.
Ajax midfielder Youri Regeer is nearing a loan move to Werder Bremen, with the deal expected to be finalized in the coming days. The agreement reportedly includes an option for the German club to purchase the player permanently.
Initially a regular starter earlier this year, Regeer's role diminished under new head coach Míchel Sánchez. His potential departure has been facilitated by the recent signing of Sofyan Amrabat, who arrived on Sunday.
Regeer's final appearance for Ajax may have been a truncated one due to illness, and he is now expected to miss an upcoming match. The urgency for the loan move is partly due to the German transfer window closing on Tuesday, a day before the Dutch window.
