BYU Star Dybantsa Shines, Echoes KD's Freshman Year

AJ Dybantsa, a freshman at BYU, has concluded his inaugural college basketball season by leading the nation in scoring. His impressive performance has drawn notable comparisons to NBA star Kevin Durant, particularly during Durant's own freshman campaign at Texas. Dybantsa recently surpassed Durant's Big 12 tournament scoring record for freshmen, a feat he acknowledged with pride, given Durant's status as his idol.

Dybantsa has openly shared his admiration for Durant, citing his effortless scoring ability. This inspiration has translated into a burgeoning relationship, with the two players working out together. These sessions have reportedly intensified Dybantsa's focus on shot form and execution. While Dybantsa excels as an athletic wing scorer with craft around the rim, his game differs from Durant's three-level scoring prowess and elite ball-handling in their collegiate years.
