Afghanistan secured a thrilling 19-run victory against Zimbabwe in the second T20I, which took place in the UAE. The match saw a remarkable turnaround for Afghanistan, who recovered from a precarious 5/38 to post a formidable total of 221/7 in their allotted 20 overs.
Key to Afghanistan's recovery was an outstanding century from Azmatullah Omarzai, who scored a blistering 116 off just 50 balls. He was ably supported by Ijaz Ahmadzai, who contributed a quickfire 53, and Rashid Khan, who added a vital 25 not out. In response, Zimbabwe fought hard, with Sikander Raza registering a century. However, their chase fell short, ending at 202/5, falling 19 runs shy of Afghanistan's total.
