As of October 3, 2025, Afghanistan and Bangladesh are set to face off in a highly anticipated 6-match white-ball series, starting with the first T20I on October 2. The two teams had contrasting campaigns in last month's Asia Cup, with Afghanistan crashing out in the group stage after losses to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, while Bangladesh put up a spirited fight, beating Sri Lanka and giving Pakistan a tough challenge in the Super Fours before failing to reach the final.
In the upcoming T20I series, star all-rounder Rashid Khan will continue to lead the Afghan charge, while wicketkeeper-batter Jaker Ali will step in as Bangladesh's captain in the absence of the injured Litton Das. After the 3-match T20I series, which concludes on October 6, the two sides will lock horns in as many One-Day Internationals starting October 8.
The first T20I between Afghanistan and Bangladesh will be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the UAE, with the match scheduled to begin at 8:30 PM IST on October 2. While the game will not be televised in India, it will be streamed live on the FanCode app and website.
