Eirik Horneland is a prominent contender for the Aberdeen manager's job. The 50-year-old Norwegian is available after concluding his role as head coach at Saint-Etienne just last week. Prior to his two-year stint in France, Horneland enjoyed a successful three-year period managing SK Brann in his native Norway.

Aberdeen is now entering the final stages of its process to appoint a new manager, following the dismissal of Jimmy Thelin last month.
