13 May
Summary
- Daryl Morey was dismissed as president of basketball operations.
- Head coach Nick Nurse will continue in his role.
- The team seeks a new executive after a playoff exit.
The Philadelphia 76ers have made a significant front office decision following their second-round playoff elimination. Daryl Morey has been removed from his position as president of basketball operations after six seasons with the team. This move comes after the 76ers suffered a decisive 4-0 series loss in their recent playoff matchup.
In contrast, head coach Nick Nurse will continue his role with the 76ers, entering his fourth season. Bob Myers, president of sports for Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, will guide the search for Morey's replacement and will temporarily oversee the basketball department. Nurse, who has previous championship experience, is being given an extended opportunity to lead the team toward its goals.
