The San Francisco 49ers face an unusually early deadline to set their 53-player roster, with just 10 days remaining before they depart for Melbourne, Australia. This expedited timeline means the team must resolve Week 1 lineup decisions well ahead of schedule, as those not on the Sept. 2 flight will miss the season opener against the Los Angeles Rams.

Several key positions remain intensely competitive. At wide receiver, the battle for 'Z' receiver roles is heating up between Jacob Cowing and Jordan Watkins, who are trying to fill the void left by Ricky Pearsall's season-ending injury. Christian Kirk's availability has been hampered by calf injuries.
