Summary
- 49ers playoff spot secured following Lions' loss.
- Victory over Colts boosts 49ers to 11-4 record.
- San Francisco aims for No. 5 seed over Rams due to division record.
The San Francisco 49ers have officially secured a playoff berth in the upcoming postseason. This achievement was confirmed following a crucial loss by the Detroit Lions, significantly impacting the NFC playoff picture.
The 49ers are now contending for a higher seed, with their sights set on improving their standing. A victory against the Indianapolis Colts in their upcoming Monday Night Football game would advance their record to 11-4.
This potential win would place the 49ers in a tie with the Los Angeles Rams, but San Francisco would claim the No. 5 seed. This is due to their stronger record within their division, holding a 4-1 advantage in NFC West games compared to the Rams' 3-2 record.
