In the second ODI at Adelaide Oval on October 23, he scored 73 runs from 97 balls, followed by an unbeaten 121 runs from 125 balls in the third match at Sydney Cricket Ground on October 25.
With these two substantial innings, Rohit's rating points increased significantly from his previous week's total of 745 points. He now joins an elite group of Indian cricketers who have achieved the world No. 1 ODI batting ranking, including Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill.
The rankings update also saw significant movement for other India batters. Gill dropped to third position following a disappointing series, while Virat Kohli maintained his fifth position despite a mixed performance.
