Selection Sunday: Unveiling the 12-Team CFP Field

The highly anticipated 2025 College Football Playoff bracket is set to be revealed on Selection Sunday, December 7th. Following a championship weekend filled with unexpected outcomes, such as Indiana's victory over Ohio State and Georgia's decisive win against Alabama, the playoff committee now possesses all the necessary information to finalize the rankings and determine the 12 participating teams.

The updated 12-team playoff structure will grant byes to the top four highest-ranked conference champions. Automatic bids will be awarded to the five top conference champions, while the remaining seven spots will be wild card selections based on overall ranking. Teams will be seeded according to their final ranking, irrespective of conference championship status.

Playoff action is scheduled to commence on Friday, December 19th, with four first-round games. These matchups will kick off a postseason that includes quarterfinal games the following weekend, culminating in the pursuit of the national championship.
