Summary
- 15-year-old Max Dowman debuts for Arsenal in Premier League
- Dowman is 3rd youngest player to appear in Premier League
- Dowman looked calm and composed, nearly scored on debut

On August 23, 2025, 15-year-old Max Dowman made his Premier League debut for Arsenal in their home match against Leeds United. Dowman, who had been part of Arsenal's academy, came on as a substitute in the 64th minute, replacing Noni Madueke.
At just 15 years and 235 days old, Dowman became the third-youngest player to ever feature in a Premier League game, after his Arsenal teammate Ethan Nwaneri and Leicester's Jeremy Monga. Despite his young age, Dowman looked calm and composed on the pitch, and nearly scored a goal when he cut inside from the right wing and fired a shot just over the bar.
Dowman had been impressing in Arsenal's pre-season matches and had traveled with the first-team squad for their opening game at Manchester United. The attacking midfielder, who was born in Chelmsford, Essex, had also made his debut for Arsenal's U18 team last September at the age of just 13.
The England U17 international has been tipped as a rising star, with England midfielder Declan Rice praising his talent and work ethic. However, Rice also cautioned that Dowman must continue to work hard to fulfill his potential, as being the best 15-year-old does not guarantee success at 18.
