- The mission empowers young girls in STEM and global collaboration.

A global initiative, Mission ShaktiSat, has brought together young schoolgirls from 108 countries in Greater Noida, India. Spearheaded by Space Kidz India, this program focuses on empowering girls in space science and satellite technology, with the ultimate objective of reaching the Moon.
The project involves 12,000 girls worldwide, providing them with hands-on experience in satellite design, coding, and mission planning. Senior engineers guide the process, but the girls actively participate in creating engineering structures for the satellite, ShaktiSat.
Organizers have requested an October 11 launch, aligning with the International Day of the Girl Child, to send a strong message about female potential. Astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla lauded the collaborative spirit, emphasizing that space exploration relies heavily on teamwork and that these girls exemplify this principle.
Participants like Shreya Sandeep Muzumdar from the UAE and Rumuri from Rwanda shared their technical involvement and enthusiasm for learning. The program aims to inspire these young minds to become future scientists and astronauts, echoing the resilience and determination of pioneers like astronaut Peggy Whitson.
The initiative has also received encouragement from President Droupadi Murmu and support from Gautam Buddha University. It underscores the belief that no dream is too big, propelling a new generation of Gen Z talent towards unprecedented heights and the ambition of going to the Moon.
