The highly anticipated Crew-13 mission, set to launch from Florida, has been postponed by NASA and SpaceX. An oxidizer leak was detected in the Dragon spacecraft's propulsion system during routine prelaunch processing, necessitating a delay. This mission was expected to mark the first space launch from U.S. soil since the Artemis II mission in April.
The Crew-13 mission will send four astronauts to the International Space Station for an extended stay. Commander Jessica Watkins, Pilot Luke Delaney, Mission Specialist Joshua Kutryk (Canadian Space Agency), and Mission Specialist Sergey Teteryatnikov (Roscosmos) are the astronauts assigned to this flight. They are scheduled to replace the current Crew-12 members aboard the ISS.
NASA has not yet provided a revised launch date for the Crew-13 mission. The space agency and its partner SpaceX are conducting additional tests and reviewing data to ensure the spacecraft's readiness for the journey. The launch was originally targeted for mid-September from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
