Antarctic UFO Incident: Declassified Files Reveal Cover-Up
4 Mar
Summary
- Military personnel observed an anomalous energy signature at an Antarctic base.
- A silent, large, circular craft was sighted during a snowstorm over the base.
- Declassified Argentine documents confirm a 1991 UFO encounter and subsequent cover-up.

Newly declassified documents from Argentina's Ministry of Foreign Affairs have shed light on a suspected UFO encounter and subsequent cover-up that occurred in Antarctica over three decades ago. In April 1991, personnel at the General San Martín Base experienced scientifically inexplicable readings on a riometer, indicating an anomalous energy source directly above the facility.
Several hours after the unusual atmospheric readings began, a base member reportedly witnessed a large, silent, circular craft moving slowly over the station during a snowstorm. This sighting occurred approximately 16 hours after the initial riometer disturbance, which had caused equipment needles to move violently and off their recording paper.
Following the incident, eyewitnesses claim they were instructed by superiors to remain silent about what they had seen. The existence of the original paper rolls recording the strange atmospheric disturbance has now been confirmed and stored at the Argentine Antarctic Institute. This marks a significant development, with researchers planning to pursue further cases related to Antarctic anomalies.
