- Shoppers tripped due to the dangerously long and slippery fabric.
- One woman needed surgery after falling face-down on concrete.

Trendy £25.99 Zara trousers, nicknamed 'death trousers' on social media, are linked to several shopper injuries. Videos circulating online detail incidents where the wide-leg, long, and slippery fabric has caused falls, resulting in medical attention for suspected broken ribs and fractured elbows.
One shopper, Lauren Hunter from Cumbria, suffered suspected broken ribs after a gust of wind caught the trousers, causing her to fall on the pavement. Another woman, Bev Finch from Essex, required two operations, including a metal plate and screws, for a complex elbow fracture after her trousers wrapped around her trainers, leading to a face-down fall onto concrete.
Physiotherapists note that such falls often lead to severe upper-body injuries as individuals instinctively try to break their fall with their arms. While taking up the hem is suggested as a simple preventative measure, Zara has been approached for comment regarding these incidents.
