Brave Amelia Kolpa, who turns eight next month, received an overwhelming amount of birthday cards from biker clubs worldwide. Amelia has been battling a rare neuroblastoma since she was two years old. Although she had previously beaten the cancer, it has returned, and she is now receiving palliative care.
To celebrate her upcoming birthday on March 3, Amelia's family aimed to break the UK record of 8,000 birthday cards. An online appeal went viral, encouraging well-wishers to send cards. Motorcycle clubs, including Hells Angels, rallied together to collect and deliver the cards.
Hundreds of motorcyclists escorted three vans filled with an incredible 60,000 cards, balloons, and gifts to Amelia's home in Rowley Regis. These were added to the 23,000 cards already received, bringing the total to over 83,000. Cards arrived from various countries, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the USA.
Amelia plans to open the cards and create a large collage to display on her wall. Her family expressed deep gratitude for the immense love and support shown by the community, highlighting the enduring spirit of humanity.
