Three children's play parks in Worcester are set to be revitalized with a significant investment exceeding £330,000. Following resident consultations, Horizon Hub, Ronkswood Hub, and Medway Road will undergo comprehensive transformations. Work began at Ronkswood on May 26, 2026, and at Horizon Hub in early June 2026, with both expected to be finished by July 17, 2026. The Medway Road project started in July 2026 and is due for completion in early August 2026.
Ronkswood Hub will feature a fairytale area, a toddler stage, and enhanced seating, alongside refurbished existing equipment and new additions like a net hammock. Safe, soft play surfaces will replace bark and log edging. Horizon Hub's extension down to Stanley Road includes a double-width slide, scramble net, and a wildflower garden, with existing structures retained and new play items added.
The Medway Road play area will adopt a vibrant coastal theme, boasting a climbable ship, accessible play panels, and inclusive seating. A dedicated enclosed space for younger children will include a wheelchair-accessible roundabout and a ground-level trampoline, ensuring diverse and safe play experiences for all.
