Beyond Cars: Women Redefining Urban Mobility Globally

Melissa Bruntlett, an urban mobility advocate, champions the creation of cities that prioritize people over cars. Inspired by the Netherlands' cycling culture, she works with organizations globally to foster sustainable and inclusive transportation solutions.

Through her consultancy, Modacity Creative, Bruntlett focuses on strategic planning and narrative building for urban transformation. She co-authored "Women Changing Cities," showcasing 19 women from diverse locations who have successfully pedestrianized streets, enhanced public spaces, and improved transit systems.

Bruntlett believes effective leadership involves listening, empathy, and valuing caregiving. Her advocacy aims to inspire individuals to re-imagine their communities, ultimately leading to healthier, more balanced, and equitable urban environments for all.
