A prominent WNBA host, known for her role with the Las Vegas Aces, has opened up about her challenging fertility journey to offer support and reduce feelings of isolation for others. She detailed her experiences, which began after meeting her husband at 41 and marrying at 42.
Initially expecting conception to be straightforward due to her healthy lifestyle, she was surprised to learn at 42 that she would need IVF. After a natural pregnancy that unfortunately resulted in a miscarriage, she underwent two rounds of IVF at a clinic that felt impersonal. She later found a new clinic through a recommendation from Gabrielle Union.
This host endured approximately five rounds of IVF and a failed IUI, along with another natural miscarriage. A subsequent embryo transfer in November of the previous year did not succeed. She was later diagnosed with stage 3 endometriosis and stage 3 adenomyosis following surgery in April, which she learned could have been indicated by earlier pelvic pain.
Now, approximately six weeks post-surgery, she expresses renewed hope and plans to try one more time to build her family. She attributes her strength to her husband, family, friends, and the basketball community. Additionally, she is completing a children's book about diverse family-building methods.
