Uttarakhand Mahotsav Enchants Visitors with Vibrant Crafts and Dances

The 10-day Uttarakhand Mahotsav, which kicked off on November 9, 2025, has been enchanting visitors with its vibrant celebration of the state's rich cultural heritage. The festival, organized by the Uttarakhand Mahaparishad, is taking place at the Parvatiya Sanskritik Upvan in Lucknow until November 18.

One of the major attractions at the event has been the stunning Khurja ceramic crockery and handcrafted sculptures, including intricate marble, sandalwood, and teakwood carvings of deities and animals. Visitors have been captivated by the beautiful hand-designed Khurja pottery, with many making purchases for daily use.

The festival has also showcased the traditional dances of Uttarakhand, such as the 'jhora' and 'cholia' folk dances, with women in traditional Pahadi attire and men in kurtas and dhotis performing to the beats of the dhol. Youngsters have been relishing the diverse range of local delicacies, from 'moong dal ke pakode' to 'tandoori chai'.

With over 180 stalls offering a wide array of products, from woollens and handicrafts to home decor and traditional jewelry, the Uttarakhand Mahotsav has truly become a celebration of the state's vibrant culture and craftsmanship.
