On Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath led the Shrawan Shivratri celebrations at the ancient Mansarovar Temple in Gorakhpur's Andhiyari Bagh. The CM performed the Rudrabhishek ritual, praying for the well-being, peace, and prosperity of the people of the state.
The rituals were conducted on the Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha of the Shrawan month, with the CM offering various offerings such as bilva leaves, lotus, durva grass, water, cow milk, and sugarcane juice. The ceremony was accompanied by Vedic mantras recited by scholars from the Gorakhnath Temple.
In a unique gesture to honor the devotees, the state government deployed a helicopter to shower flower petals over the sea of devotees at several temples, including the Gorakhnath Temple, Manasrovar Temple, and others in Gorakhpur and Sant Kabir Nagar. This aerial tribute was part of the state's broader Shrawan initiative to ensure smooth arrangements for pilgrims and show respect for their devotion.
