On International Women's Day, the UP Police Family Welfare Association, Vaama Saarthi, hosted a ceremony to honor exceptional women and girls from the families of non-gazetted police personnel. The initiative, led by association president Meenakshi Singh, sought to recognize outstanding contributions across various sectors. This year's event saw 530 nominations, from which 14 women and girls were selected for their distinguished achievements. The honorees represented fields such as entrepreneurship, sports, science, literature, social service, digital media, and public service, showcasing a broad spectrum of talent and dedication.
The felicitation ceremony strongly resonated with the International Women's Day 2026 theme, "Give To Gain." Meenakshi Singh emphasized that recognizing these women is a source of immense pride for the UP Police family, as their accomplishments serve as powerful inspirations for society. Awardees included motorcycle vlogger Swati Rozha, entrepreneur Khushboo Singh, BSF inspector Bhavana Chaudhary, and sisters Apurva and Apurvi for their Sanskrit revival campaign. Other recognized individuals included Shreya Singh for sports, artist Neha Singh, scientist Nighat, scientist Padmini Mishra, educationist Sadhana, Dr. Nirima Gautam for medical services, writer Akanksha Prajapati, and Hemlata Yadav and Deepti Yadav for their organ donation advocacy.
